REMEMBER THESE THINGS
REMEMBER THESE THINGS ties each lesson to an object, similar to an object lesson, but more concrete. Families are encouraged to use Family Devotions, Apologetics, and Remember These Things sections to talk about and review the lessons. Teaching is simplified by repeating the same format each week. Afterschool, church, or study groups can use these to solidify strong foundations in true science and apologetics.

Questions
How do we know what to believe about science?
Science texts contain a litany of facts often clouding the difference between demonstrable or observable knowledge (Scientia) and inferred or theoretical scientific ideas. Our physical world is amazingly complex, however, the underlying scientific laws are self evident, not speculative. When scientists seek to EXPLAIN beyond the observable realm, error can creeps into their reasoning.
Today’s science seeks only answers from a natural, not a supernatural source. If you believe that “God created…,” your belief is out-of-step with naturalistic, material-based science. Any answers obtained with human bias taking a stand for or against the supernatural may be subject to error. Just as anyone can err, so to cancel science.
How do I speak to a skeptic?
No matter what a skeptic believes, they cannot deny your personal experience or testimony. This is especially good to keep in mind when dealing with “deeply-ingrained” science professionals. If these skeptics have accepted the big idea/lie that life and complexity can arise spontaneously, without a designer; then, the “imaginations of their hearts” can easily accept the many simple fallacies that accompany other scientific theories.
Scientific evidence for design abounds in every aspect of nature, such as DNA and epigenetics – also known as irreducible complexity. We consider other philosophical or scientific arguments such as Paley’s Watch, the Goldilocks and Copernican principles, the Laws of Biogenesis and Thermodynamics as basic practical evidence against the notion that nature or the cosmos arose from chaos, without design, or that it grew out of “nothing.”
What can I tell others about a young vs old earth?
In my experience, the best answer is from Robert Jastrow, a nobel-prize winning scientist, who tells the story about a: “scientist who scaled the mountain of ignorance…about to conquer the highest peak; as he pulls himself over the final rock, he is greeted by a band of theologians who have been sitting there for centuries.” This mountain represents piles of revised scientific theories and ideas that converge to reveal, “It must be by Design” and by the Word of God as recorded in the Holy Scriptures.
